FAQ'S

Why does a Part 107 certification matter?
In short, it is required by law for any drone operator to be Part 107 certified if capturing content for commercial use. That means all of the content that PORTLANDRONE captures is 100% legal for your business, because 100% of our operators possess a Part 107 certification!

Are the images good? The video, too?
Ch-yeah they are! We can shoot in many different formats. Our drones even shoot in high-res 4K.

Can you work with me on pricing?
Of course. If you're strapped or just need one shot, we can help. Just inquire!

Do you operate outside of Portland?
Yes! In fact, we encourage your inquiry to fly new places.
You can fly anywhere, right?
Wrong. In fact, there are several locations that are prohibited from flying. Considering Portland's city center is so close to the airport, there are several regulations that can delay and sometimes prevent flight operation. However, we have several waivers to fly within many Oregon airspaces.
Weather don't matter?
Weather does matter! Variables like wind and visibility are very important - and can even prevent flights. But don't let that turn you off - even in Portland. Always inquire and we'll see what we can do to get your imagery.
How high does the drone go?
FAA regulations allow drones to operate up to 400 feet high.
